Blogging on the go

We all blog in different ways. Some people need peace and quiet to pen their pieces; others like to work in a busy hub of ideas. However, these days, more and more people are choosing to blog in a variety of different environments by uploading on the go, and thanks to the advent of smartphones and tablets, it’s not as difficult as you might think!

Whether you’re a commuter with a business blog or simply a busy blogger wanting more flexibility, these apps could help you keep your blog updated, no matter where your travels may take you.

WordPress

WordPress is one of the most popular blogging platforms – in fact, there are upwards of 55million WordPress sites in existence – so it’s refreshing to find that their apps for iOS and Android are both free. The app allows you to create, edit and manage your blog posts, photos and comments effortlessly, as well as view your all important blog stats at the tap of a touchscreen.

Blogger

Google’s blogging offering Blogger also has a free app, which has fairly similar functionality to the WordPress offering in terms of writing and editing. However, it also gives you the option of posting from more than one account, giving you an additional level of flexibility.

Blogsy

Blogsy is an app which works across a multitude of platforms, including WordPress and Blogger, as well as others such as Typepad and Joomla. The only drawback is the price – the other apps are free, but Blogsy will set you back £2.99. Whilst it’s not a massive cost, you can get workable options that don’t cost you anything, so it’s worth weighing up your blogging needs and choosing your app accordingly.
