Key people

Emily Hill and Claire Cullum head up the Write My Site team. They’ve both spent their working lives in roles involving the written word, and between them they’ve worked with written content for almost 40 years. So, you might say that words are a part of their DNA!

Emily Hill

CEO
Emily is our CEO and founder. She set up Write My Site at the age of 24 when she spotted a gap in the market for a company that could write copy that both people and search engines would love. Notwithstanding the seismic changes that have swept the digital landscape since 2006, this premise remains just as relevant today. She currently divides her time between overseeing our consultancy’s projects and delivering bespoke, best practice copywriting training. Emily also runs the Copywriting for SEO course at Brighton SEO, Europe’s largest Search Marketing conference.

Claire Cullum

Managing Editor
Claire is Write My Site’s Managing Editor. She has twenty years’ experience of working with the written word and joined the business in 2017, after spending more than a decade as an editor in the publishing world. She earned her editorial stripes in the education sector, working in hands-on roles for high-profile academic publishers. Prior to becoming an editor, Claire started out in the translation industry where she worked as an in-house translator and project manager – so she also knows a thing or two about meeting deadlines.

How do we work?

Emily and Claire are both big fans of the written word – you probably gleaned that much from our bios. Our real passion, however, is helping our clients find the right words for their organisations. For some clients, that means rolling up our sleeves and producing the content on their behalf; for others it means workshopping their existing content, consulting on their tone of voice, and delivering highly personalised copywriting training to their teams.

We don’t believe in rush-jobs or sloppy service, so we’ll probably say no if your deadline is yesterday.

We care about our work and we’re committed to delivering a high-quality service to all of our clients. That’s why we focus on developing meaningful relationships with our clients, and we aim to get to know your organisation as well as you do.

When you work with us, you’ll be looked after by either Emily or Claire: in fact, you’ll probably get to know both during your time with us! We’ll always have a clear overview of your project to make sure our team produces work of a consistently high standard.

How does it all work?

How long will my project take?

There is usually a lead time to begin work on a new project as we have to honour our existing commitments first. However, once we start your project, you’ll know exactly when to expect everything. We plan all projects in meticulous detail, and you will have full visibility of the plan from the outset.

What does it cost?

Anywhere from £250 to £25,000 or more. If you’d like to test the waters before committing a larger budget, you can bring a specific issue to our Content Clinic for a fixed fee of £250. We’ll deduct this amount from any future work you commission. Our training Academy lists indicative pricing for our range of copywriting courses. If you’d like to engage our experts to write copy, audit your content or help define your brand voice, please get in touch for a quote. We’re usually able to provide a flat rate, and we are happy to offer staged payments for larger projects.

Who’s on your team?

We’re headed up by Emily and Claire – both experienced copywriters with strong editorial backgrounds. Emily founded the company in 2006, and now heads up Write My Site Academy. Claire joined us in 2017 to manage our writing team and make sure all our projects run like clockwork.

How much do you know about SEO?

Quite a bit! Emily runs her Copywriting for SEO course twice a year for Brighton SEO, Europe’s largest search marketing conference. She keeps the Write My Site team fully up-to-date with SEO copywriting best practice, enabling them to write search-friendly copy for our clients.
