Searchmetrics highlights value of social shares
New analysis from Searchmetrics has shown that social shares can have a significant impact on search ranking. Unsurprisingly, Google’s own social site and its +1s had the most significant correlation coefficient of +0.4, but Facebook social shares were close behind with a correlation of +0.34. Twitter and Pinterest were slightly lower, with correlations of +0.28 and +0.29. We recently posted our own blog about why your business needs Google+, so we’d like to thank Searchmetrics for having our back! If you want to know more about the numbers and what they mean, head on over to the Searchmetrics Ranking Factors report.

With more than 13 million users, the number of tweets containing a Vine link has risen from five per second in April to nine every second in the first three weeks of June. Interestingly, branded Vines are four times more likely to be shared than other video ads, suggesting that Vine could be a useful addition to social media and content marketing strategies.
