Page views: Mondays at 11am
The average blog gets the most traffic on a Monday. We can only assume that this is because people have come back to the office and are catching up on the news after the weekend. What time on a Monday, we hear you ask? The majority of blogs tend to get the most traffic at around 11am. However, the period of 8am-11am is pretty busy in general, so it seems that morning publication is key.
Comments: Saturdays at 9am
Despite Monday’s ability to increase your traffic, the best day to post a blog that attracts lots of comments is apparently a Saturday – also in the morning, at the slightly earlier time of 9am. We suspect that this is because people tend to have more leisure time at the weekend, so whilst they may only skim your article if it’s published during the working week, they’re more inclined to read and respond to it when they have the time and the headspace to consider it away from the daily distractions of the working week.
Social shares: Thursdays between 9am and 10am
The best day for social shares is a Thursday, with a 10% increase on any other day of the week. Once again, a morning spot seems to be preferable – in fact, if there’s only one piece of advice that you take away from this piece, it’s that the AM timeslots rule the roost.
